Diagnosis and treatment services are as follows Thoracic surgery departments: major lung resections; tracheal resection; bronchoplasty; chest wall resection and reconstruction; rigid and fiberoptic bronchoscopy, mediastinoscopy, and videothoracoscopy (VATS); and thoracic surgery emergencies (including removal of tracheobronchial and esophageal foreign bodies).
Thoracic Surgery Departments also perform invasive procedures for treatment of lung, esophageal, tracheal, mediastinal cancers, metastatic lung cancer, mesothelioma, sarcoma, thoracic outlet syndrome, and thymoma as well as benign diseases of thoracic organs and malignant pleural effusions.
